Minecraft Server Changelog

This changelog notes most major changes made to the Minecraft server over time. Dates and times are usually listed in ET.

2025-03-26​

  • Updated to 1.21.5
  • Migrated to Fabric server from Purpur (Paper)
  • Setup minecraft.command permissions for admin and mod groups in LuckPerms
  • Installed DirectionHUD as Fabric compatible alternative to Coordinates HUD
  • Installed SleepWarp (Updated) as Fabric compatible alternative to One Player Sleep (needs testing with multiple online users)

2025-03-14​

  • Migrated all data from Hetzner gs-02 server to DigitalOcean NY1 rayn-gs-03.
    • Switched to dedicated CPU and increased memory from previous DO instance
  • Purpur / MC Server Memory Limit raised from 1024 MB to 4096 MB
  • IP address updated

2025-03-12​

  • Migrated all data from DigitalOcean to new server at Hetzner ash-dc1 using CCX33 instance.
    • 8x more RAM (4GB -> 32 GB)
    • 2 Shared vCPUs -> 8 Dedicated vCPU (AMD EPYC)
    • 2x local storage

2025-03-11​

  • Installed Waypoints plugin (teleports disabled)
  • Installed LuckyPerms plugin
  • Enabled borg backups of [...]/RaynMC01/Minecraft folder using borgmatic to BorgBase via crontab.
    • Currently set to 60 mins frequency

2025-03-10​

  • Adjusted world spawn point: /setworldspawn -21 71 12
  • Switched from Spigot 1.21.4 to Purpur 1.21.4
  • Installed Coordinates HUD and enabled by default for new players. Toggle in-game with /coordinates toggle.
  • Disabled spawn chunk protection
